Parasolid® Kernel Modeler
TS3D provides licensing and support service for the Parasolid Kernel Modeler from Siemens PLM Software, Inc. – either as an integrated complement to the HOOPS 3D Application Framework or as an independent component. Leveraging Parasolid, your application can add advanced solid/surface modeling capabilities or the ability to read/write the popular XT file format.
Recognized as the world's leading, production-proven
core solid modeler, Parasolid is an exact boundary-representation geometric
modeler supporting solid modeling, generalized cellular modeling and
integrated freeform surface/sheet modeling. Developed by Siemens PLM
Software, Inc. in Cambridge, England, Parasolid is used within Siemens
PLM Software's products and is licensed to many of the world's other
leading CAD/CAM/CAE vendors. Designed for high-end MCAD applications,
Parasolid is now used in a wide diversity of leading
mid-range systems.
Parasolid has three distinct levels of licensing,
at varying price points, designed to serve the specific functionality
requirements of your application. Special pricing levels are also available
for educational usage.
The licensing levels are:
- Parasolid Communicator gives developers SDK access
to the Parasolid kernel to read, write and interrogate files in
the Parasolid XT format - enabling applications to exchange geometric
data with the many other Parasolid-enabled applications. In addition
to file reading, capabilities include faceting, clash detection,
face sewing, sectioning, hidden line calculation and
calculation of: geometric intersections, mass properties and minimum
distances.
- Parasolid Editor. Extends the abilities of Communicator – allowing developers to perform basic data processing and editing of XT data. This level is useful for applications such as CAM and CAE pre-processing applications which must perform simple modeling operations for geometry clean-up/simplification.
- Parasolid Designer. The full-blown solid/surface modeling kernel which includes all of the capabilities of Communicator and Editor as well as full access to the rich Parasolid API for performing a wide range of robust solid and surface modeling.
Add-on Modules are also available for Parasolid, including:
- Parasolid Bodyshop. For advanced healing, geometry repair and model clean-up which also deploys Parasolid’s Tolerant Modeling™ technology to enhance Interoperability.
- Parasolid Translators. The InterOp translation technology has been tightly integrated with Parasolid for water-tight conversion of solids.
